Ricky Martin is one of the most fascinating showmen in the world. He has had quite the career with his starts in the boyband Menudo, graduating to the telenovela world with "Alcanzar Una Estrella" and his solo career with "Livin' La Vida Loca." Martin has paved the way for Latino artists to make a crossover from the Latin world into a general market. His recent years have been spent fathering twin boys Matteo and Valentino. Martin became a father via a surrogate mother. The Puerto Rican star didn't have a family in a traditional way people use that to bully and make fun of.

In Mexico, May 10 is Mother's Day. Unlike the United States that celebrates moms on the second Sunday of May, Mexico has a fixed date. On this day Ricky Martin became a trending topic on Twitter. Checking the tweets people have been posting, they all seem to be poking fun at the singer and his kids. The joke is that the children don't know who to celebrate on this day, since Ricky is technically a man and a father, not a mother. The humor is cruel and reaches a new low with this sensitive issue.

"As confused like Ricky Martin's kids on Mother's Day," reads one of the tweets. However, there are some people out there that gives us hope for humanity in general. "The fact that Ricky Martin is a trending topic shows how uncreative and stupid we are," reads the tweet. Another one sarcastically asked: "Have you tweeted out the joke about Ricky Martin's kids, comedy geniuses?" We are living in a time that we need to accept each other and unite, not fight. We are sure that Matteo and Valentino live in a lovely home and that Ricky provides them with all the love they need.
