Funny man Robin Williams will star in a new CBS comedy playing an "unorthodox advertising executive" the Washington Post reports. Sarah Michelle Geller (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will co-star with Robin Williams as the comedy icon's daughter.

Reuters says the show is called "The Crazy Ones" and will not only star Williams and Geller but will be produced by famed Ally McBeal producer David E Kelly. The new CBS comedy will air Thursdays at 9pm following the "Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men"

There will be four new comedies and one drama added to the CBS lineup this fall. According to Yahoo News "CBS will end this season with the widest margin of victory in viewers of any network in 24 years and even win among the advertiser-desired demographic of 18 to 49-year-olds for the first time since the early 1990's."

Robin Williams is an acclaimed actor and comedian beginning his career as a stand-up comic. Williams rose to popularity as the character Mork from planet Ork on "Happy Days." The character was so successful it earned Williams a spin off called "Mork and Mindy."

In the early 1990's Williams used his talents for impersonations to give life to the voice of genie in the Disney classic "Aladdin."

More recently Williams has starred alongside Ben Stiller in both "Night at the Museum" movies. He also guest starred on NBC's widely popular "Law and Order: SVU."

His biography from the biographychannel.co.uk says, "With a career spanning 30 years, during which he has received over 40 awards, including an Oscar, and been nominated nearly 50 times, Williams' appeal will no doubt span many more generations to come."
