MSN is reporting that actor Ryan Reynolds has been caught on camera supposedly punching co-star Scott Speedman. The photo was originally posted on People.com.

Was the punch real?

Captured on the set of an upcoming movie thriller, "Queen of the Night," Enstars says the punch was "all part of a scene" between Reynold and his co-star. The upcoming film, slated for release in 2014, is being filmed in Sudbury, Canada, with director Atom Egoyan, known best for directing the 2009 erotic thriller "Chloe," which starred Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson. In Egoyan's upcoming film, Reynolds plays a father in search of his kidnapped daughter, according to The National Ledger.

Egoyan recently spoke with Deadline New York about the upcoming film and his work with the "Green Lantern" star.

"I'm very excited about working with Ryan. The richness of [Reynolds'] performances in such diverse films as "Buried," "Safe House" and romantic fare such as "The Proposal" is extraordinary."

Fashion & Style reports that Rosario Dawson and Bruce Greenwood have also been cast in the movie. Latino Post writes that "Rosario Dawson plays the detective in charge of the investigation into the girl's whereabouts," while Inquisitr notes that "It wasn't clear what role Scott Speedman will play, other than 'the guy who gets punched by Ryan Reynolds.'"

Joblo.com states that principal photography for the film began this month.

Reynolds, 34, has a busy year ahead of him, and his wife, actress Blake Lively, 25, has opted to spend time on set with him to show her support. Lively was recently reported to have turned down all invitations to New York Fashion Week, opting instead to spend time with her husband in Canada, according to E! Online. The "Gossip Girl" actress and her husband wed last September, 2012, in Mount Pleasant, N.C., but apparently this doesn't mean Lively only has eyes for Ryan.

Lively recently revealed her infatuation with "Savages" co-star Salma Hayek in a post on Entertainmentwise.

"I actually refer to her as Salma Hayek my girlfriend now, as I truly fell in love with her. She is truly the love of my life. She is such an incredible actress ... and to see her up against all these strong men. She never looks silly, she's so beautiful and such a babe too."
