Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been labeled as royal rebels and this is because they seemingly developed a habit of breaking protocols that were being followed by the Royal Family for years and even centuries. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were even heavily bashed by the citizens and the media due to their frequent refusal to follow traditions as members of the British Monarch

In fact, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under such heavy scrutiny that they've decided to spend the holidays away from the UK and in the United States with Markle's mother. This means that the Sussexes will not be spending Christmas with the Queen as they previously have, thus, here are six more royal traditions that the couple will be breaking because of this:

They Will Not Spend Christmas With the Queen

Every year, the members of the Royal Family go to Sandringham on Christmas to be with Queen Elizabeth. Express reported that the family started spending the holidays at the Queen’s Norfolk estate since 1988 and prior to this, it was usually held at the Windsor Castle. There is exchange gifts but the items are not expensive as they chose to go for something humorous, and apparently Harry and Meghan will break this family’s Christmas tradition of exchanging gifts and spending time with the Queen on Christmas.

The Pair Will Not Attend Church Service with the Queen And Prince Philip

The next day, the Royal Family will attend the morning service at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham. It can be noted that every year, photos of the royal family while walking to the church are posted on news headlines and this year, one family is unable to attend.

Harry and Meghan Will Miss the Annual Staff Party in the Palace

Grant Harrold, the former butler to Prince Charles, relayed to Insider that there is an annual party for the staff in the palace. The whole family is also present on this occasion and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be there as well.

The staff also have the chance to interact with the Royal family during this festivity. The butler recalled that at the party, he was able to exchange some words with Prince Charles and got to have his meal with Prince William and he was happy because “Not many people can say they had a meal with the future King."

They will not be in the black-tie Christmas party

It is a tradition for the Royal Family to hold their black-tie party on Christmas Eve and Prince Harry and Meghan will obviously break this tradition since they cannot be there. This event will serve “Zaza,” the Queen’s favorite cocktail.

There Will Be No Royal Chef to Cook Christmas Meal for Them

The Duke and Duchess will miss the feast that the royal chef will prepare for the family. By themselves, they are likely to cook their own food in the U.S. where they are reportedly spending the holidays. As shared by the former chef Darren McGrady, the meals served to the Royal Family are the same every year and they’re usually just turkeys.

They Will Miss the Queen’s Grand Decorations Throughout the Windsor Castle

Prince Harry and Meghan will never see the Queen’s holiday decorations at Windsor Castle. The whole place is decorated and it includes a 20-foot-high Nordmann fir Christmas tree, garlands in the hallways and living room.
