Two teenage brothers, ages 18 and 17, in Texas have been arrested and arraigned on Sunday, accused of brutally beating their abusive stepfather to death before abandoning him in a field after the victim’s young daughter accused him of rape.

Police moved to slap the underage suspects, Alexandro and Christian Trevino, with aggravated assault/family violence and engaging in organized criminal activity charges. Meanwhile, their accomplice, 18-year-old Juan Eduardo Melendez, faces one count of capital murder along with Christian.

Authorities said Alexandro is not accused of inflicting the fatal blows to Gabriel Quintanilla, 42, whose beaten corpse was discovered by a farmer in a field in McAllen, KSAT reported.

The witness would immediately phone 911 for help, which saw Pharr Police Department cops arrive at the scene on Thursday at approximately 2:41 p.m. Responding investigators identified the victim as Quintanilla, who carried a warrant out for continuous sexual abuse of a child and assault.

In a press release, police said that the victim's death was the result of a “family situation” sparked by Quintanilla’s 9-year-old daughter, who caused an “outcry,” after alleging her father inappropriately touched her at an RV park located in the 1200 block of East Moore, about 15 minutes east of McAllen.

The girl then approached her brothers, Alexandro and Christian, to lament the alleged inappropriate touching. Enraged, the men confronted Quintanilla at their residence, where a physical row ensued between the three. Minutes later, Quintanilla reportedly fled the location on foot.

Christian then chased him down in front of an apartment complex up the street where a second assault took place, during which Alexandro and Juan Eduardo Melendez, who drove a red Dodge Charger, would offer their assistance to inflict pain on the victim.

The trio would leave the scene of the second assault via Melendez’s car to switch vehicles before driving back in a Ford F-150 pickup truck, according to Law & Crime.

Cops said the suspects spotted the injured Quintanilla along Veterans Road, assaulting him for a third and final time, leaving him with severe head trauma that led to his death after the men repeatedly punched the victim in the face using brass knuckles.

Before fleeing for the second time, the assailants opted to place Quintanilla, still alive at the time, in the bed of the truck. They drove off as far as the McColl and Whalen Road area, where they dropped the victim off in an open field.

The three teens were arrested and charged on Sunday afternoon, with bond set at $500,000 for all suspects, Valley Central noted.
