Trump Urges Immediate Increase in US Oil Production Amid Iran Strait of Hormuz Threat

President Donald Trump was "exceptionally firm and direct" with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when warning him against an extensive strike on Iran on Tuesday, according to a new report.

Axios reported that Trump called Netanyahu on Tuesday following Israeli claims that Iran had violated the ceasefire announced hours earlier with a missile impact in the southern city of Beersheba.

Netanyahu told Trump he could not cancel the attack altogether and that some kind of response was needed. They ultimately agreed to conduct a symbolic strike, which ended up targeting a radar installation.

"ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly "Plane Wave" to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!" Trump said in a social media publication following the call.

Quoting a White House official familiar with the matter, The Associated Press added that Trump did not mince words when warning Netanyahu, who understood the severity of the warning and acknowledged Trump's concerns. "I got to get Israel to calm down now," Trump later told press outside the White House. He then spoke against regime change in Iran, saying it only brings chaos.

Israel claimed that Iran launched a missile towards Israel six minutes after the ceasefire ended and two more three hours later. In response, the prime minister's office said, the "Israeli Air Force destroyed a radar installation near Tehran."

"Following a phone call between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israel refrained from carrying out additional strikes. During the conversation, President Trump conveyed his deep appreciation for Israel, which he said had accomplished all of the war's objectives. The president also expressed confidence in the stability of the ceasefire," the statement added.
