Elena and Damon
After Elena and Damon called it quits in the mid-season finale "50 Shades of Grayson" fans were devastated, but things are only going to get worse for "Delena" because the elder Salvatore is going bad. After the bad breakup Damon is an emotional tailspin, which only leads to one thing-- bad behavior. CW

Bad news Delena fans, there is no happy reunion on the horizon for Damon and Elena. In addition to their already rocky relationship, it looks like the universe is ready to thrown the couple another curve ball because Damon is going over to the dark side. We don’t know exactly if Elena and Damon call it quits, and then the elder Salvatore brother descends into a seriously dark depression, of if it's the over way around. But regardless of how it happens, what we know is that Season 5 is about to be wicked, and maybe the “Vampire Diaries” advertisements for the current season will finally make sense. Because we think Damon agrees, that it does, in fact, feel good to be bad.

Ian Somerhalder himself, who portrays the 200-year-old vampire on the CW’s hit show, first revealed Damon’s moral plummet. “Damon is bad again,” Ian spilled in a video interview with China Joy during a recent promotional trip to China. “He’s sort of the bad Damon, which is always a lot of fun. Because he’s heartbroken from Elena. He wants to just eat people and drink booze.” The midseason finale, “50 Shades of Grayson” revealed much more of Damon’s dismal past than Elena was ever ready to handle, however, she was not the one to break up with her boyfriend. Instead, it was Damon who ended the relationship, out of mercy as opposed to anger. Damon decided that what was best for Elena was to let her go, telling her, “I'm choosing to relieve you of having to defend me for every awful thing I've ever done.”

But considering his impending emotional tailspin, we are not so sure that this was the best choice for both Damon and Elena. But now that he has lost his long time female companion, Damon is in the company for a new best friend and while fans would love to see the Salvatore brothers participate in a genuine reconcile, there is a new vampire in town and he too has history with Damon. After Enzo was revealed as the current and long standing Augustine vampire, he sought revenge against his former best friend, but after Damon saved his life it seems the pair is even. So while we will be missing Delena, “Vampire Diaries” is now introducing Denzo! According to Wetpaint, Enzo is described as “the devil on Damon’s shoulder” so we are assuming that their recent relationship is another cuase for Damon turning bad. In addition to Denzo’s increased screen time in the first half of Season 5, it seems the two charcaters are still spending quality time together, meaning Enzo is not leaving Whitmore any time soon. Somerhalder told fans, “Enzo is the man, there’s a lot of Enzo and Damon. I think it’s called Denzo.”
