The battle is on. Monday was the third day of the blind auditions, and fights over contestants got heated -- especially between Shakira and Adam Levine.
The ruckus began over Karina Iglesias, a music teacher in Miami, who sang "Only One" in Spanish. It wasn't until the very last minute that both Levine and Blake Shelton turned their chairs to show their interest in the bombshell Latina.
But Shakira did not, and regretted it instantly.
"What is wrong with me? Why didn't I press my button," she moaned in Spanish, while Levine was trying to talk to the contestant.
"You can't speak, no! Don't you pull out your Spanish right now!" he said back.
When she kept going, he told her in flawless Spanish, "Callate!"
That caught everybody by surprise, but nobody more than Shakira. The Colombian singer looked astonished, and then admitted that it "was pretty cool."
But it was all in good nature -- Levine quickly got up and gave Shakira a quick hug, and later tweeted that "Shakira had told me that meant 'I love you.'"
Karina Iglesias then went to Levine's team, which looked like the perfect fit for her rocker vibe. Shakira landed another Latina, Monique Abbadie, who performed the Colombian's original song "Loca" and used to be a child performer in her native Cuba.
