“The Walking Dead” Season 10 hype is on full swing, with a new teaser released about the 10th installment. TWD Season 9 ended with the survivors braving a blizzard and traversing the Whisperers’ land regardless of Alpha’s threats.

After the trailer for Season 10 of “The Walking Dead” came out at San Diego Comic-Con International 2019, a short teaser was released that shows what’s in store for fans when it hits the small screens this October.

The official Twitter page of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” released a 33-second video clip that places three of the recent additions to Hilltop’s group under the spotlight: Connie (Lauren Ridloff), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Magna (Nadia Hilker). It showcases a wall behind them, on which they had spray painted the phrase “Silence the Whisperers.”

This confirms the arrival of the highly anticipated Whisperers War arc. Such had been predicted based on the trajectory of the long-standing television show in accordance with the timeline of “The Walking Dead” graphic novel. Following the comic’s route, this will pit the fate of Rick Grimes’ survivors against Alpha’s group of zombie impostors.

The expected exit of Danai Gurira’s Michonne from the series has the show losing another strong female lead. However, this latest teaser — which hints at the more central role of these upcoming female leads — compensates for such loss.

“The Walking Dead” has lost many of its lead cast in recent years — most notably Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Greene. And now there’s the about-to-exit Danai Gurira.

But fans need not worry as they will be seeing Lincoln once the TWD movie trilogy comes out in the big screen. Additionally, an interview slip during the SDCC hinted that Lincoln’s Grimes and Norman Reedus’ Daryl may have an early reunion in the next season.

“I can’t rule that out," answered showrunner Scott Gimple on whether Daryl and Rick will reunite. “Have you seen a little film ‘When Harry Met Sally’? That’s how they’re going to rejoin again.”

The release date for AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Season 10 for the US is set for Oct. 6. Meanwhile, its premiere in the UK is slated for Oct. 7 on Fox TV.
