Tonight on an all-new "Big Bang Theory" childhood TV rivals will square off when Bob Newhart returns as Professor Proton and Bill Nye the Science Guy guest stars as his nemesis. Professor Proton was a beloved scientist Leonard and Sheldon used to watch on TV as children. Bill Nye will be playing himself in tonight's episode "The Proton Displacement." Bob Newhart's character will go to Leonard for advice on some matter, much to Sheldon's displeasure. Upset that his childhood hero does not want his help Sheldon plans revenge.
Jealous over the fact that Professor Proton does not need his help Sheldon decides to call on another beloved childhood scientist in order to make Proton jealous. Enter Bill Nye the Science Guy, playing himself. Bill Nye had a popular show on the air in the 90s in which he taught children about science. In the promo for tonight's episode we see Professor Proton working with Leonard in his lab. Sheldon walks in and introduces Bill Nye telling Proton he has been replaced with a newer model. "Back off bowtie," Proton yells when Nye gets close to Leonard's experiment.
Sheldon, Amy and Leonard first run into Professor Proton in the drug store. Newhart is waiting on line at the pharmacy when an eager and excited Sheldon rushes up to him. Sheldon introduces Amy as his girlfriend and Professor Proton is amused and bewildered at the idea Sheldon has a girl. After chatting with Amy for a moment Proton says he understands how Sheldon got a girlfriend. Also happening tonight we will see Raj get angry with Howard when he crashes "girls night."

Can't wait for next week's "Big Bang Theory" spoilers reveal that Raj's ex-girlfriend Lucy, played by Kate Micucci will return. Last season Lucy and Raj bonded over their mutual social anxiety issues. Lucy ended up breaking Raj's heart when she dumped him via text message. Next week Penny will run into Lucy and she'll have a few choice words for the woman that hurt her friend.
