In connection with a Clapham Common, south London assault case, cops have asked witnesses to help them after a man in his 30s was raped in a forest area.

According to Daily Mail, two men were apparently there when the incident happened around midnight on June 30 on the western edge of the Common. Details about the two men are currently not out, but the Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses to approach them.

As the investigation continues, the attack has been treated as an isolated incident by the cops. According to detective Sergeant Ross Burrell, police are determined to identify the person or people involved in this "horrific crime and seek justice for the victim." "A significant period of time has passed since the attack occurred, but we still think there will be people out there with information that could help," he added.

Cops want people who saw the two men in the area either before or after the attack acting suspiciously, to come forward. The sergeant added that his team will treat any information provided by witnesses sensitively and will not make judgments on reasons for being in the area when the incident took place.

In a separate incident, earlier this month, two men, aged 23 and 26, respectively, were refused bail after they were accused of a raping a man who was filmed while forced to perform sex acts on them in Dublin, reported Irish Examiner. The men, who hail from eastern Europe, were charged with raping the man, who is in his 20s. The crime reportedly went on for four minutes and was captured on CCTV.

Detective Garda James Campbell said that the video showed the complainant, who was intoxicated, losing his balance and speaking to passersby, including the two defendants and a friend of theirs. While interacting with them, “pushing and pulling was observed” before he left. The victim was then followed by the three men, who were not known to him.

The two defendants were seen running until they caught up with victim, and then after a slight struggle, the 23-year-old man was seen leading the victim down Prince’s Street. He was allegedly forced down onto his knees and then the younger defendant allegedly removed his own pants. In the security camera footage, his penis could be seen while the co-accused laughed and watched on.

The co-accused also joined in and they reportedly took turns in seeking oral sex. The defendants’ friend, on the other hand, used his phone to make a video of the assault.
