A drunk man fled after cutting his wife’s nose following a scuffle between the duo.

The shocking incident took place on Sunday, July 11, in Aminabhavi village of Dharwad, Karnataka, India.

The accused, identified as Umesh Gandgudari, had a heated argument with his wife, identified as Geetha, following which he attacked her and chopped off a part of her nose with a sharp weapon.

The victim had been staying at her parents’ home after a marital discord.

The suspect, who was upset that his wife left him, went to her home and got into an altercation with the victim.

The victim’s mother, identified as Neelave, tried to intervene but she too fell prey to the suspect’s wrath. She reportedly fled the home after suffering minor injuries.

The police were informed of the attack. Officers responded to the scene and escorted both the victims to a nearby hospital.

They were treated for their injuries, however, their current condition is unknown.

The suspect is reportedly absconding. Police officials said they have registered a case and are investigating the incident. A special team has been formed and efforts are being put in to nab the suspect, police said.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a jealous wife cut off her husband's manhood because he was too popular with women.

The 40-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to the Cho Ray Hospital in Saigon after his wife used a scissor to severe his penis while he was asleep.

The victim had lost a lot of blood when he arrived at the hospital.

"The penis is cut with scissors, requiring the doctor to treat the wound, wash the severed part properly to avoid infection," Doctor Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Department of Urology, Cho Ray Hospital told a local news outlet.

"Technically, this surgery requires using a specialized microscope; the surgeon must be trained in microsurgery, vascular surgery."

The victim was treated for his injuries

"I feel fine, can walk, eat normally, the place that was cut off is now pink," the unnamed patient said.
