“The Bachelorette” finale spoilers up ahead!

Hannah Brown decided to drop “The Bachelorette” winner and begged for the runner-up to take her back, in a shocking twist in the Tuesday’s finale. While few viewers understood what happened, Brown gave a perfectly valid reason in an interview afterward.

Fans were surprised when the reality show star, who already picked the man deserving of her rose, suddenly had a change of heart and split from the winner, Jedd Wyatt. She then begged Tyler Cameron, that man she already deemed unworthy of her final rose, for a reconciliation. Why would she do that?

Simple -- real emotions rule and cannot be forced, shut down or pushed aside when it matters. This is what Brown essentially said in the interview after Tuesday’s finale, with People magazine.

“I loved two different people,” Brown told the magazine. “And I was getting engaged to one and breaking up with the other all on the same day. I was trying to make a choice, but you can’t shut off emotions. I wanted to be 100 percent sure, but I don’t think I ever was.”

Brown, 25, admitted that she did feel attached to Cameron, 26. The attachment she said, was immediate but she felt that the guy just was not ready for marriage. This somehow broke her in hindsight, she shared.

"Then I started to slowly break down," she explained. "And [by] the Fantasy Suites, it wrecked me. I felt like I did a disservice because I hadn’t allowed myself that time to be ready to be engaged to Tyler.”

Brown chose Jed because she was the safer choice. “In that moment, [choosing Jed] felt like the safest, best decision I could make,” she said.

Still, eventually, she decided to follow her heart, especially after discovering Wyatt lied in the first place.

Wyatt already had a girlfriend when the show began. She revealed to Chris Harrison that she knew of this fact only after they got engaged. Her trust was broken and she could not get her old feelings for Wyatt back because of this dishonesty. Brown said Wyatt did apologize about Haley Stevens, the said girlfriend, but did not seem to understand the gravity of the situation.

She’s been hurt and lied to in the past, so she was not willing to go through and be stuck in a relationship like that again. She said she deserved better.

Whether better means being with Cameron remains to be seen. For his part, Cameron seems not averse to the idea of a reconciliation. “I cherish Hannah and value her and our friendship so much, but I don’t think it’s healthy for us to jump into anything right away," Cameron told People. "I think we need to be friends and see where life takes us. Whatever happens, happens.”
