Singer and actress Becky G (Yellow Ranger) and actor RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger), recently visited the "Despierta America" studios and sat down with Alan Tacher and William Valdés to talka about their experience as "Power Rangers."

The story, based in the successful children's series of the 1990s, will follow a group of teenagers who must harness their unique superpowers and use those powers as a color-coordinated team in order to save the world.

The main cast was announced in the fall of 2015, revealing that among Becky G and RJ Cyler, actors Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), Ludi Lin (Black Ranger) and newcomer Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger) would also be joining the Lionsgate project.

During the interview, the "Shower" singer confessed that when she sent her audition tape she had no idea she would be portraying the Yellow Ranger. "My agent called me and told me 'OMG! They loved you!'" the Mexican-American singer said. "But what are you talking about?" replied Becky. "Oh! Lionsgate people. The 'Power Rangers,'" her agent told her. After that, she revealed how she started running, crying and screaming all over her house.

"Man, I'm so excited to even just see... the way we've been filming so far, we're at this half-way point, we're almost done," she told to Pop Sugar on another interview, making reference to her character Trini, the Yellow Ranger. "In real life, it feels like I'm connected to my character on-screen because it's a coming-of-age story. These young people figuring out who they are, what their place is in the world, at the same time as becoming these superheroes," she said at the time.

The cctress confessed that preparing for the role was a difficult task, but that she's able to do it with a balance of healthy eating habits and martial arts training.
