'Cantinflas' Son Dead At 57: Mario Moreno Ivanova Dies From Heart Attack

In a statement via Facebook, the public relationist of the only son of Cantinflas, confirmed the death of Mario Moreno Ivanova. The son of Russian Valentina Ivanova Zubareff and Mexican actor Mario Moreno, died of a heart attack at age 57 in the early hours of Sunday to Monday, May 14 in Mexico City.

"Friends, unfortunately it is true. Mario Moreno Ivanova died this morning, victim of a heart attack in his house in Mexico City ... I am with his widow, Mrs. Tita Marbez on the issues of paperwork. Later I will tell you where and at what time the funeral will be," wrote Emilio Morales Valentín.

Valentín also reported that the funeral of Moreno Ivanova were on May 15, in the French Pantheon of San Joaquin, and the mortal remains will be cremated on Tuesday May 16 in the same place, after a private Mass.

According to El Pais, the widow of Moreno Ivanova, also confirmed the death. "Yes, it was my husband," says Marbez."We were separated, but we never divorced," she insists. "He suffered from congenital heart disease," she added.

After they separated, Moreno Ivanova had a son with Sandra Bernat named Mario Moreno Bernat. In 2013 he was found dead in an apparent suicide in a hotel room in Mexico City. The grandson of Cantinflas was found hanging with a rope around his neck in the bathroom.

Previous reports claim that Moreno Bernat filed a complaint against his father for allegedly induced him to drugs and alcohol when he was 14 and he wished him to be prosecuted.

After Cantinflas passing from lung cancer, the Morenos became a source of scandals. They were involved in legal battles between the cousins for the rights of the comedian, as well as marriage ruptures and suicides.
