An intoxicated man reportedly plowed his truck into a crowded Hiram bar in Georgia before opening fire, in retaliation for being kicked out from the club over the weekend, authorities said.

On Saturday, July 10, at around 11:30 p.m, Eduardo Morales, 34, of Woodstock, was reportedly told to leave the 278 South Bar & Grill in Hiram because he was drunk and unruly, the Hiram Police Department said.

However, Morales returned to the club a short time later, plowing his black Dodge Ram 2500 truck into the establishment before pulling out a gun and opening fire at the crowded bistro through the window of his truck, Fox News reported.

When he ran out of bullets, Morales reportedly drove the vehicle into the bar through the front doors of the establishment, striking down numerous patrons and bouncers along the way.

The truck finally came to a stop after it rammed into the bar area of the club. When the truck got stuck, Morales was unable to drive away and tried to reload the weapon to continue firing, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. However, bystanders were able to restrain him before he continued his drunken rampage.

"My instinct was to run towards the truck and I dove into the driver's side window," witness Mauricio Puerto told FOX5 Atlanta. "I noticed he had a pistol and he was reloading. I grabbed the wrist where he had the pistol. He was putting up a fight and he wouldn’t let it go. I kept elbowing him with my right arm.”

Morales was reportedly pulled out of the vehicle by patrons and bouncers before he could fire any more shots. Morales sustained minor injuries during the takedown. He was taken to Paulding Wellstar Hospital and later transported to Paulding County Jail, facing charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

One patron was reportedly grazed by a bullet and another patron was struck by Morales' truck twice. The details on the number of people who were injured in the incident remain unclear.

"By the grace of God nobody got shot because he shot directly in through his windshield into the bar," Puerto told the station.

Hiram police are asking witnesses with information regarding the incident to get in touch with Lieutenant Michael Wilson, Hiram Police, at 770-943-3807.
