There’s a new feminist message sent out to the world today, care of Alex Borstein and the Emmys 2019. In her acceptance speech for supporting actress, she encouraged women to step out of the line, never be boxed in what societal norms dictate them to be.

Alex Borstein is as strong-willed and opinionated as her character at Amazon’s “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” When accepting her award, she made sure her speech would count. Instead of just thanking people, she also shared an inspiring message to women everywhere.

Channeling Susie Myerson of the hit Amazon show, she said, “My grandmother was in line to be shot into a pit.”

She added, “because she asked a guard "what happens if I step out of line?" and he responded "I don't have the heart to shoot you, but somebody will" -- and then no one did -- the actress said "I am here and my children are here. "So step out of line, ladies, step out of line!.” It was short but caused an uproar.

Personally, it is apparent that she has been stepping out of the line all through her life. Just last year for the Emmys 2018, she announced to the world that she’s not wearing bra, as she received her outstanding actress award. This year, she announced that she’s not wearing underwear. Joking or not, it was not usual for women to go blurting out these things.

Aside from her, Patricia Arquette also used her time onstage to make some strong political messages. After receiving her award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for “The Act,” she told the audience that it is now more than ever, important to help trans people by giving them jobs.

“I'm so sad I lost my sister Alexis and that trans people are still being persecuted... Let's get rid of this bias that we have everywhere," she said, adding: "They're human beings and let's give them jobs,” she said.

Arquette is also one of the first women to do this, using an award show's onstage time as a time to highlight a political issue. Back in 2015, she delivered an amazing Oscar speech highlighting the need for wage equality.
