A man has been arrested on Wednesday after being accused of the torture and murder of L.A.-based celebrity business manager Angela "Angie" Kukawski, who was found dead inside her car in Simi Valley on Dec. 23.

According to ABC7, Los Angeles Police Department and Simi Valley police investigators responded to the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue Simi Valley on Thursday last week to follow up on a missing-person investigation into the disappearance of Kukawski, 55.

The woman, whose high-profile clients included the Kardashians, had been reported missing a day earlier. The next day, police found her corpse inside her vehicle, which was parked on Patricia Avenue.

Law enforcement moved to arrest her beau Jason Barker, 49, charged with one count each of torture and murder. He was booked into a jail facility in Van Nuys while being held on a $3.07 million bail, L.A. County jail records show.

In a felony complaint filed in Superior Court, prosecutors said that the suspect, armed with a knife, "did unlawfully and with the intent to cause cruel and extreme pain and suffering for revenge, extortion, persuasion and a sadistic purpose, inflict great bodily injury" upon Kukawski.

Detectives also believe Barker killed Kukawski inside their home in Sherman Oaks on Dec. 22 before transporting her dead body inside her car, which he drove to the home of a relative in Simi Valley in the early morning hours of Dec. 23, NBC News reported.

Meanwhile, the Ventura County coroner's office described the cause of death as "sharp and blunt force injuries of the head and neck and strangulation."

"Angela was truly the best," the Kardashian-Jenner family said in a statement. "She cared about all of us and made things happen that were impossible. She will be greatly missed; we send our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones during this most difficult time."

A spokesperson for the victim's company in Woodland Hills, Boulevard Management, would also release a statement, which remembers Kukawski as a kind and lovely individual.

Some of the A-list clients that Kukawski worked with during her career included Trinidadian-born rapper Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian's estranged husband Ye, People noted.
