Father Raped 9-Year-Old Daughter While Wife Went To Her Parents' House

A man has been accused of raping his 9-year-old minor daughter after his wife left their home following an argument and went to her parents' house in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

The unnamed accused, a carpenter by profession, reportedly engaged in a heated argument with his wife over a domestic issue on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Following the fight, the wife left their home, leaving her minor daughter with her husband, as she went to her parent's house.

While the minor daughter was left in his care, the accused father reportedly came home in an inebriated condition and allegedly assaulted his daughter. After raping his daughter, he then warned her not to tell anyone about the incident and threatened her with dire consequences if she did so, the Times Of India reported.

The incident came to light after the victim's mother returned home on Wednesday morning, Aug, 10. When the woman returned home, she found her daughter upset and crying. After her mother asked her, the victim narrated the horrifying ordeal that she went through. Following this, the mother took the girl to a nearby police station and reported the sexual assault incident to the authorities.

Based on the complaint, the officers registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. The suspect remains at large after fleeing from his residence, India.com reported.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a father has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on Monday, April 5, for allegedly repeatedly raping his own minor daughter when she was barely 13 years old from 2020 to 2021 in Mumbai, India, Latin Times reported.

The 13-year-old victim reportedly lived in a cramped and small room with seven to eight family members, including her grandparents, uncle, father, and two younger siblings.

The frequent abuse finally came to light on May 4, 2021, after the girl’s grandmother noticed something suspicious about the victim's menstrual cycle and questioned her about it. The distraught young girl revealed that her father had forced himself on the teen several times in the past year.

The victim narrated that her father was usual under the influence of alcohol when the recurring abuses transpired. Following this, the grandmother filed a case against the 37-year-old father. He was subsequently arrested and brought before the court to face rape charges where he was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years behind bars.
