Gwen Stefani is reportedly upset with Taylor Swift after it was announced that she will serve as a mentor on “The Voice” Season 17. Stefani is returning to the hit singing reality TV show this season, and she reportedly wants a big comeback.

According to a tabloid, Swift’s casting could only mean that someone would be stealing Stefani’s thunder, and the latter is not happy. An unnamed source told the tabloid that the other coaches welcomed Swift with open arms. Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend are all happy to work with the singer.

But according to rumor-debunking site Gossip Cop, there’s no truth to the claims. It’s unlikely that Stefani has negative feelings toward Swift because the two have been friends for years.

And during the seventh season of “The Voice,” Stefani and Swift already worked together. At that time, Stefani was a new coach on the hit NBC show, and Swift also served as a mentor.

Just recently, Stefani also opened up about Swift’s casting during her interview with People. The No Doubt vocalist expressed her excitement to reunite with the “Red” singer very soon.

“I think Taylor’s gift is more her songwriting, and I feel like that’s the same for me, so I thought we related to each other a lot,” Stefani said. “She’s just so relatable in the way she writes, especially to girls — and to me,” she added.

Meanwhile, Gossip Cop also noted the fact that the same tabloid has been publishing fake stories about Stefani. Weeks ago, the tabloid claimed that the singer is expecting her first child with Shelton. The tabloid went as far as saying that Shelton is planning an on-air proposal on “The Voice” Season 17.

Two months ago, the same tabloid claimed that Shelton asked Stefani to leave “The Voice” for good to save their relationship. But it’s unlikely for Shelton to ask Stefani to leave even before the reality TV show premiered.

At present, Stefani and Shelton are still together. And it’s also evident that their relationship is getting stronger and stronger.
