Queen Elizabeth previously revealed one of her biggest fears. She said that she doesn’t want to be overlooked by the public.

Her Majesty has been worried about people not recognizing her when she’s outdoors. As such, she makes an effort to dress up in bright colors so that it’s always easy to spot her in the crowd.

In the documentary “The Queen At 90,” Sophie, Countess of Wessex, also talked about the Queen’s penchant for always wearing bright-colored outfit. In fact, the Queen also said that she doesn’t like wearing beige because the color doesn’t make her stand out.

“She needs to stand out for people to be able to say ‘I saw the Queen,’” Sophie said. “Don’t forget that when she turns up somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, ten, 15 deep, and someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the Queen’s hat as she went past,” she added.

In 2012, the Queen’s personal assistant, Angela Kelly, said that the 93-year-old royal has the last say when it comes to what she wants to wear for the day. The Queen is also very knowledgeable when it comes to fabrics. Her Majesty also has a limited number of black-colored clothing.

But beyond her fashion and personal style, a royal expert also explained why the Queen developed fear with regard to being overlooked by royal fans. In his book “Queen Of The World,” Robert Hardman said that royal fans have been so used to the monarch that’s why they tend to ignore her.

“Clearly, she is the most famous woman in the world, I think that goes without question these days,” he said. “But way beyond that, there is a sense that she is this constant in national life. To other countries around the world, she is extraordinary. I think perhaps we take her slightly for granted here because we are so used to her,” Hardman added.

But at the end of the day, Hardman said that the Queen hasn’t changed at all. And her style hasn’t changed either.
