“Jane The Virgin” sure likes to keep the guest stars coming! Celebrities such as Paulina Rubio, David Bisbal, Kate Del Castillo, and even the pop princess herself, Britney Spears, have teamed up with the show’s stars in their telenovela adventures, which have of course been documented behind the scenes by Instagram lovers, Jaime Camil and Gina Rodríguez.

Camil, who plays Rogelio de la Vega in the CW series, confessed that he would love to invite many of his former Latino co-stars to the show, including none other than Alejandro “El Potrillo” Fernández, “Producers recently asked me: ‘who do you think would be able to participate in the series?’ And my first thought was Alejandro Fernández, of course, he is my brother and my friend. I would love ‘El Potrillo’ to join us, but we still don’t have an answer. The proposition, however, has been sent to the Universe so fingers crossed. Hopefully it works,” he said during a recent conference with the Mexican media.

The 42-year-old actor also shared that the production came to him to ask for advice on who should play his character’s (Rogelio de la Vega) first wife, “They asked me to give them a list of 10 actresses that could work as Rogelio’s first wife, my character. I named Ana Brenda Contreras, Yadhira Carrillo, Silvia Navarro and María Adelaida Puerta,” he recalled. Ultimately, Kate Del Castillo was the lucky winner, the Mexican actress was featured as Luciana Leon, De la Vega’s ex-wife, in chapters twenty-five, twenty-six and twenty-eight.

Both, Camil and Del Castillo, are full supporters of Latino talent crossing over and taking advantage of the quality in Hollywood’s productions. The latter recently stated that it was about time for an Association of Latinos in Hollywood at the Festival Hola México in Los Angeles, California, and we couldn’t agree more. Latinos unidos, jamás serán vencidos! Don’t miss “Jane The Virgin” on The CW Mondays at 9/8c.
