On Thursday, July 16, in preparation for the biggest night of the year for TV, the nominees for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced. The announcement took place at the SilverScreen Theater at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California, by the hands of by Emmy-winner Uzo Daba and "So You Think You Can Dance" host, Cat Deeley. Television Academy President and COO Maury McIntyre also spoke to congratulate and wish the nominees the best of luck at the award ceremony in September.

While loyal fans expected much more love for the CW’s hit comedy “Jane The Virgin”, narrator Anthony Mendez saved the day as the only nomination for the show and first Latino to be nominated as a Voice-Over actor.. After the news broke, Mendez released the following statement: "While I know there are many others behind and in front of the camera who are also deserving of recognition, like the amazing Gina Rodriguez, I'm honored to represent our show, Jennie Urman's incredibly risky narrator. The writers' amazingly craft words. Those, like myself (in the voice-over community), who understand that it's never about us, it's about the story, the words, and the characters, can only hope that this will inspire more people to pursue this wonderful, many times unrecognized, craft. I myself am inspired by The Television Academy's nod.”

The Award show will be hosted by Andy Samberg on Sunday, September 20, and will air live on FOX and from the Microsoft Theater (formerly Nokia Theatre).
