A man was charged at the Milimani Law courts in Nairobi for reportedly forcing his girlfriend into oral sex and then publishing it online.

The man was identified as Joseph Adekunie Odu who is also being charged with threatening his girlfriend named Caroline Wanjiku Wairimu.

It appears the man of Nigerian origin initially asked his girlfriend to meet him at his house in Ruaka, Kiambu county to settle their differences. But the when the 24-year-old woman arrived, she was surprised to find Adekunie Odu accusing her of having an affair with other women.

The man threatened to kill her with a knife in hand at that point. He forced her to perform oral sex on him as Adekunie Odu filmed the whole thing. Unknown to Wairimu, the man had posted the video on his WhatsApp and Instagram for people to see.

“I woke up in the morning and found a lot of missed calls and messages on my phone from people trying to ask me whether I was ok. I was shocked because I didn’t understand what was going on,” the woman said in an official statement.

Adekunie Odu was charged on Aug. 8, 2021, at Ruaka View Apartment within Kiambu county. But even at that time, he continued to threaten the woman, telling her that he would kill her.

It turns out that this was not the first time that Adekunie Odu had a criminal offense. He had a past charge for assaulting Wairimu at Garissa Heights Apartments in Kileleshwa as well as two other counts including Cyber harassment and possession of marijuana.

Wairimu revealed that she and the accused have been dating for almost two years. But in that span, she had suffered from different occasions of assault. That included around November of last year when she allegedly almost lost her eyesight due to Adekuni Odu’s jealous rage.

Adekunie Odu pleaded not guilty to the charges before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi. The man was released on a bail worth Sh200,000.
