Nearly two decades after nixing their engagement, Jennifer Lopez has revealed her young and discontinued romance with Ben Affleck gravitated her towards getting another shot at love with the actor.

The “Marry Me” star got candid and said of Affleck, "I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him" as she reflects on the reasons to be grateful, which includes her film and music career continuing to be as hot as ever at 52.

"I've never been better," the Latina beauty said, baring it took her a long time to reach a place of inner peace she had been dreaming of. “It's just that we're all in a very beautiful moment."

Apart from her romantic comedy releasing on Feb. 11, Lopez is happy to see her 13-year-old twins Max and Emme are growing healthy. Ultimately, Jennifer called her second chance with the Golden Globe and BAFTA Award winner for best director “a beautiful love story” that they hold “sacred,” per Page Six.

Looking back, the “Play” songstress acknowledged the labyrinth of media and the public attention they had to navigate the first time they dated from 2002 to 2004, which shortly came after their box office flop “Gigli.” She said it far more prepared them for how to handle life in the public eye nearly 20 years later.

"Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naïve and it got a little trampled,” she said.

The couple, opting to call off their engagement in 2004 after postponing their initial wedding date, only reconnected last spring after Lopez canceled her betrothal to Alex Rodriguez.

Being former lovers on screen and in real life, the lovebirds initially feared their reunion would result in another episode of Bennifer’s crashing end, according to People.

Fortunately for the duo, Jennifer is confident that Bennifer 2.0 is an entirely different chapter, saying, "We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.”

Meanwhile, Lopez is keeping things civil with the “Batman” star’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, who she has gotten to know better as Bennifer grows strong. Ultimately, “Let’s Get Loud” hitmaker chose to “become close” with the “Yes Day” actress, 49, for the sake of Ben’s kids, Seraphina, Violet, and Samuel.

“They’ve come to an understanding that all that matters at this point is what’s best for the kids,” an insider said per Hollywood Life. “As mothers, it is important to J.Lo that Jen is on board. Jen’s kids have taken to Ben and his children which is super important to Jen, too.”
