The legacy of Joan Sebastian was born on July 13th after the Mexican singer lost his 16-year battle to bone cancer. Family, fans and colleagues are still mourning the death of El Rey del Jaripeo, but his loved ones assure that his music will live on forever.

In fact, in the midst of Sebastian's many funerals, his son Jose Manuel Figueroa revealed details of an album and new single his father was working on before passing away.

"Until his last days, he worked in his music, his compositions," a very emotional Figueroa told the press. "One of his biggest dreams before passing was for people to enjoy his last album and single."

Though the "Tatuajes" singer did not make it to promote his forthcoming production, his son promised to take the reigns of his father's project and announced Sebastian's new single will premiere Wednesday, July 15 on radio stations in Mexico.

According to Sony representative Lidia Salazar, the single will debut during Sebastian's funeral at the Catedral de Morelo in Cuernavaca, Mexico, reports TV y Novelas. The new album is slated for release in October.
