The wait is finally over for Joey Montana fans who have been waiting for the long-awaited "Picky Remix." About nine months ago, the Panamanian singer dropped his catchy single "Picky," and also announced that a remix was on its way. Finally, Montana presents the new version of his summer anthem featuring a hot collaboration with Akon and Mohombi.
As if the original song was not contagious enough, this explosive trio unites the best of three worlds! The remix, which dropped Friday on all digital platforms along with an official music video, fuses Joey's unique Panamanian tropical sound with that of the internationally-renowned Swedish-Congolese artist, Mohombi and the legendary Akon, who has worked with great names in the industry, such as Michael Jackson, David Guetta and Eminem, among others.
"We poured our hearts on this remix and you can feel it when you listen to it and watch the video,” expressed Montana of his new single. "The video is fresh and fun, and I know all my fans will love it as much as I do," he added of the vibrant and fun-filled music clip directed by Daniel Duran.
Forming part of his upcoming fourth studio album, "Picky" has gained international success, nabbing No. 1 spots in many charts around the world, including Spain. Montana told Latin Times that this song is different than any of his other jams, such as “Unico” and “Moribundo,” because he goes back to his roots of an authentic tropical urban sound. “We took the risk with ‘Picky’ to look for something new and go back to my roots that are danceable,” he said, giving the example of music like that of El General.
Following the remix, the 33-year-old singer from Panama will continue to delight audiences with his tour across Latin America and as celebrity coach for this season of "La Voz Ecuador." Recently, Montaba was nominated at the second annual HTV Heat Latin Music Awards in the category of "Best Artist – Northern Region," which will take place this June in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic.
