Laura Pausini talks to us about her participation as judge on "La Banda" and forms her ideal girl group! Univision

When Laura Pausini was invited to form part of the upcoming reality TV talent show "La Banda," she did not hesitate to say yes. "Cisco Suarez, the producer of the show, invited me to be a judge and of course I thought it was attractive," Pausini told Latin Times about the show's concept.

The Italian-born songstress, alongside Ricky Martin and Alejandro Sanz, are in search of the next Latino boy band. "I respect Ricky and Alejandro on a professional and personal level. The three of us are there to professionally guide the contestants," she said.

Pausini, who admitted that forming part of a group is challenging, said that it takes more than just talent to become the next member of a boy band. "The three of us are very focused on the personality of the boys. If they're humble, their way of being," Pausini said. "To be a real singer you must be honest. We're in search of the new idols," she added, stating that winning the competition will be a big responsibility for the boys.

In addition to talking to us about the show, the "Escucha Atento" singer also revealed that her ideal girl group would consist of herself, Alanis Morrissete, Sade, Leona Lewis and Shakira.
