A man has been accused of heinously murdering his six-year-old daughter by throwing her from the terrace of a midrise building before proceeding to kill himself after his wife decided to move to Canada. The incident happened at Yadagirigutta, Hyderabad, India on Friday, April 1.

The man, identified as Cherukuri Suresh, 40, resided in the Chandanagar Police Station limits with his wife, Nagalaxmi, and their 6-year-old daughter. Sreshta. A year ago, Nagalaxmi reportedly quit her job and suddenly decided to move to Canada to pursue her career. Suresh, who suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair, reportedly felt upset by his wife's decision to relocate herself, the New Indian Express reported.

On Wednesday morning, March 30, Suresh left his house while taking his daughter along with him. The two later arrived at Yadagirigutta in Hyderabad. The father and daughter reportedly rented a room in a small lodge named Mayuri, located opposite the police station in the town.

On Friday, April 1, after visiting the Yadagirigutta temple with his daughter, Suresh returned to the lodge. However, at around 1 a.m. in the middle of the night, he took his sleeping daughter to the terrace of the building and hurled her from the great height. The child suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot.

After throwing the toddler from the terrace, Suresh jumped off the building himself to take his own life. Following the incident, officers rushed to the scene and transported the father and daughter's bodies to the Bhongir Area Hospital for the conduct of an autopsy. After the postmortem examination, their remains were handed over to their family, Times Now reported.

Law enforcement reportedly obtained a suicide note left by Suresh in his room in the lodge. In the letter, Suresh accused his wife of having an extramarital affair and blamed her for their deaths. He added that he decided to kill his daughter because he believed that his wife would not properly take care of their child after his suicide.
