Gina Rodriguez can add producer to her resume with her new project. The “Jane The Virgin” actress will be producing and hosting a new ceremony to honor young women who are making a difference in the world.

According to FOX News Latino, the actress will be hosting and producing the inaugural Marie Claire Young Women’s Honors. The ceremony will air on December 19 on the CW television network.

Rodriguez has become one of Latinos talent to watch as she is breaking barriers in Hollywood on the hit show “Jane The Virgin.” The actress is passionate about uplifting women and said that her goal in creating the event was to foster the “unlimited potential” in every woman.

"As a young Latina, I had to break down barriers and overcome naysayers. When you see someone following their dreams, it gives you allowance to follow your own," said Rodriguez, the Golden Globe-winning star of the CW's "Jane the Virgin."

Women will receive achievement in various fields of work including technology, science and education, which are selected for recognition by a blue-ribbon panel. The panel is chaired by Rodriguez and includes Anne Fulenwider, Marie Claire magazine’s editor-in-chief, and Dr. Julie Vose, former president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

According to the announcement, the show will serve as a source of inspiration to viewers from empowered female worldwide who are breaking down barriers and debunking stereotypes. The honorees will be announced at a later time.
