Fans of Meghan Markle may never see the Duchess of Sussex pregnant again. According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan plan to have their second child by way of adoption instead.

Prince Harry and Meghan tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor in 2017. A few months after the royal wedding, the Palace announced Meghan’s pregnancy. On May 6 this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison.

Earlier this month, Prince Harry revealed in an interview with Dr. Jane Goodall that he and Meghan would only have two children maximum so they could help protect the already overpopulated planet. He also talked about how terrifying the environmental threat is if one is a parent, saying that his views when it comes to taking care of the environment have tremendously changed ever since he became a father.

Although Prince Harry confirmed that he and Meghan Markle would only have a maximum of two children, that doesn’t mean that royal followers will see Meghan pregnant again with their second child, suggested some reports. In fact, according to these reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now keen on having a second baby and are not going to shy away from adoption as a way to do so.

For instance, a report that surfaced last week claimed that the couple is set to make another unconventional move by adopting a baby, so Archie won’t be an only child for very long. A source from the Palace allegedly told the publication that there’s no stopping Prince Harry and Meghan from adopting, even Queen Elizabeth. “Harry and Meghan are going to face a lot of opposition from the old guard, but they are stubborn!” said the source.

The Palace has yet to release its official statement on the matter, but it looks like royal punters are happy about the news. According to bookies Ladbrokes, there’s a 5/1 chance for Prince Harry and Meghan to adopt their second child. “Royal fans would love to see Harry and Meghan extend their brood, and adoption would be a lovely way to do so,” said Jessica O’Reilly.

Since they tied the knot, Prince Harry and Meghan have been highly controversial because of their unconventional decisions. After seeking independence from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, they revealed their plans to raise Archie in a private environment, away from the royal fishbowl.
