Prince William is reportedly considering reconciling with his younger brother, Prince Harry. The Duke of Cambridge, on the other hand, is concerned that the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, may stage a stunt during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Since the latter decided to marry Meghan Markle, the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex have apparently been feuding for years. Prince William counseled his younger brother to take his time and not marry right away, something Prince Harry reportedly did not appreciate.
According to an unnamed source, Prince William wants to repair their connection. However, the future king had new reservations about the Sussexes.
An anonymous tipster claimed Prince William wishes to speak with Prince Harry to try to mend their relationship. "But [the Duke of Cambridge is] fearful it will find its way onto Netflix, Oprah, or into Harry's upcoming book," the source told The Sun.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are working on a Netflix documentary. The second in line to the throne does not want any private conversations to be broadcast.
Their grandmother Queen Elizabeth's approaching Platinum Jubilee celebration is another source of concern. The Sussexes have already confirmed their participation, raising fears that they will steal the show from the British monarch.
Per Mirror, Royal biographer Tom Bower said that: "William will worry that Harry and Meghan will pull a stunt to try to get the limelight."
Bower added: "Kate and William would be foolish not to be suspicious and would be unwise not to be cautious."
Growing up, Prince Harry and Prince William were extremely close. They became a royal trio when the Duke of Cambridge began dating and subsequently married Kate Middleton. Prince Harry was dubbed Cambridge's third wheel because the three royals were so inseparable.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle started dating, royal admirers assumed the royal trio would become a fab four. However, the royal siblings agreed to keep their residences separate until the Sussexes retired from their royal duties and relocated to California.
Tina Brown, Princess Diana's former royal biographer, believes that if Prince Harry had married someone like Middleton, his relationship with Prince William would have remained the same.
"It all depended on who Harry married. If Harry married somebody like Kate, I'm quite sure their relationship would have been preservable," Brown told Marie Claire.
The Sussexes will visit the United Kingdom next month, giving Prince Harry and Prince William the chance to work out their differences. When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the Queen and saw Prince Charles last month, the Cambridges were not in the country.
