Miley Cyrus has been "swatted" for a second time over the weekend after the LAPD received a call that there was a shooter inside the "Can't Be Tamed" singer's home. TMZ reports a female caller dialed 911 and told police she was in Miley Cyrus' home hiding inside a closet. The caller told police there was a man with a gun inside that house and that shots were fired.
When police arrived at Cyrus' house they quickly determined that the 911 call was a prank. This is the second time in 8-months that Miley Cyrus has been "swatted."
In August 2012 Miley Cyrus was "swatted" for the first time after police responded to a claim the former "Hannah Montana" star was the victim of a home invasion. Cyrus was not at home during either "swatting" incident.
The Hollywood Reporter cites a source as telling them Miley Cyrus had a mixed reaction when she learned of the first "swatting" incident. Afterward it was said that Cyrus was glad the police showed up.
"God forbid something like that actually happened," the source said to the Hollywood Reporter. "[Cyrus] felt good that the response was quick, thorough and amazingly done."
"Swatting" is the latest trend for bored teens in LA. The culprits make prank 911 calls about serious crimes that eventually lead the LAPD SWAT team to the homes of famous celebrities. On the same night Miley Cyrus was "swatted" for a second time another celeb was also "swatted."
Paris Hilton's home was also "swatted" for a second time Friday night when someone called 911 claiming to be holding the socialite hostage. Police arrived at Hilton's place to find only her dogs were at home.
Contactmusic.com lists other celebrity "swatting" victims, including Justin Timberlake, Khloe Kardashian Selena Gomez, Russell Brand, Ryan Seacrest, and Magic Johnson.
