Jessi Combs has died at the young age of 36. While an unfortunate news, hers was a life lived to the fullest. She also died trying to do what she dreamed of doing - getting a new speed record.

Combs can be described as a true epitome of someone living the life at the fast lane. The speed racer knew it was dangerous for her to try and beat her own record, but she still went and do it. The speed rader and tv figure however, got into an fatal accident.

On Tuesday, Combs died in a crash in Oregon’s Alvord Desert, as confirmed by The Harney County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday. The Office claimed that the racer passed away in a crash in a dry lake bed. Although confirmed an accident, the Sheriff Lt., Brian Needham still said an investigation is currently ongoing to determine the cause of it.

Combs also appeared on several TV shows, most notably Discovery’s “Mythbusters.” With the news of her passing, several warm statements have been made on the kind of person she was.

Discovery and Discovery Motor tweeted its condolences and praises. “The Discovery and MotorTrend Family is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Jessi Combs. She was a friend and colleague, an icon in the industry, and an undeniable force of nature who left an indelible mark on the car world. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones," the tweet reads.

A rep for the Combs also made a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, with nothing but good words for the kind of person that she was. “She was a lovely and rare individual who had an inner softness to her that you may not expect from one in her line of work, and I absolutely loved that juxtaposition!,” the statement says.

Car and Driver claimed that Combs is truly popular among racing circles. She's known as the “fastest woman on four wheels" because in 2013, she was able to broke a record with a run of 393 mph. That was already a neckbreaking speed but Combs wanted to do so much better.

Before this accident, she said she wants to reach the speed of 512mph, nevermind the fact that it sounds crazy. "People say I'm crazy. I say thank you,” she said on Instagram just this Sunday.
