Women are often warned to be careful about the people they meet on social media. There have been a lot of cases wherein some get sexually assaulted or robbed of money or their belongings.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for undertaking these despicable acts. And in a statement, he admitted having done it for several years now.
In his confessional statement, the Nigerian revealed how he was on Instagram for several years where he met women online. He invites them to hook up with the women covering all the expenses to get to Port Harcourt. The victims also pay the hotel fee.
After having sex with them, the 23-year-old leaves them there and runs away. The women would call him and he would respond by saying he was no longer interested. He admitted it was a scam and that he would ask his victims to send money if they wanted their nude photos deleted.
''I have been on Instagram for several years I meet females online. I tell them about hookups. When they accept, they pay connection fee, pay their flight ticket from wherever they are to Port Harcourt. They pay the hotel fee. After having sex, I leave them stranded in the hotel and run away,” the man admitted on video.
From his recount, it appears everything was consensual. The man denies drugging his victims. As far as how much money he charges to delete the photos or videos, the Nigerian said that the amount varies. However, he admitted that the girl who reported him to authorities was charged N300, 000 ($73).
“No specific amount. Some pay 100, some 50. The girl that made them arrest me, she sent N300, 000 ($73,” he stated.
It remains unclear what kind of penalties the 23-year-old is facing. His identity as well as that of his victims were kept under wrap.
