Conor McGregor has been blabbering about a 2021 fight with Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, an event that will be made for a good cause. However, it appears Pacquiao has a new condition for the fight to take place. He should be a co-promoter of the event.

Though McGregor alleges that an agreement has been made between Pacquiao and Paradigm Sports Management, it turns out that such is untrue. If the Irishman truly wants the fight to happen, it would require the involvement of his promotional company MP Promotions.

"At the present time, I do not have an existing management contract with Paradigm Sports Management. I have formed my own company, Pac Sports and Entertainment, and am more than willing to give the fans what they want: An exciting fight with Conor McGregor under terms and conditions where I am the co-promoter with my company. Thank you and God bless," Pacquiao said to the Daily Mail.

Before this development, McGregor seemed pretty certain that a Pacquiao fight was happening in 2021. He claims that talks were made and UFC president Dana White was aware of negotiations. White said he does not know these negotiations. McGregor told the UFC boss to stop lying and that he has the legal documents to prove it.

For Pacquiao and if the fight were to happen, a large portion of the purse would be handed to COVID-19 relief efforts. But until now, confirmation of the fight has been erratic with the 41-year-old believed to be more concerned carrying out his duties as a senator in the Philippines.

In a previous post, boxer Mikey Garcia is keeping tabs with the developments surrounding Pacquiao. He brands the whole thing as nothing more than entertainment and remains confident that it will be him that the Filipino boxing icon will face in a real boxing match. The last time Pacquiao entered the ring, he fought and won over Keith Thurman to win the WBA title.

For McGregor, he vows he will try to hold off using mixed martial arts moves if he faces Pacquiao. However, he added that it all depends on what trainer Freddie Roach will say. Roach believes that Pac-Man will have a much easier fight in his hands than the one he had with Ricky Hatton in 2009.
