A new book written by Donald Trump’s former lawyer describes the U.S. president as a racist. In his book titled “Disloyal: A Memoir,” Michael Cohen claims that Trump has a low opinion of all black people and does not consider former South African president Nelson Mandela as a true leader.

In 2018, Donald Trump made headlines after referring to African countries as “shithole” nations. Asked about the allegations that he was a racist, he denied and told reporters, “I’m the least racist person you have ever interviewed.”

Fast forward to 2020, however, Cohen claims that Trump is a racist who looks down on black people and the Hispanics. “As a rule, Trump expressed low opinions of all black folks, from music to culture and politics,” Cohen writes, adding that Trump is also not a fan of anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela.

Cohen also claims that Trump sees countries run by black people as “toilets,” confirming earlier accusations that he was a racist. “Tell me one country run by a black person that isn’t a shithole. They are all complete toilets,” he claims Trump as saying.

Cohen also writes that Trump has “hatred and contempt” for former U.S. president Barack Obama. The former presidential lawyer reveals that Trump even hired an Obama impersonator once to appear in a parody video showing him belittling the “Faux-Bama.”

“Trump hired a ‘Faux-Bama’ to participate in a video in which Trump ‘ritualistically belittled the first black president and then fired him,” reveals Cohen. The video was made in 2012 for the Republican Convention, when Mitt Romney was nominated as the Republican candidate.

Trump also allegedly once said that Hispanic voters were as “stupid” as the blacks, saying they were not his people. “I will never get the Hispanic vote. Like the blacks, they’re too stupid to vote for Trump. They’re not my people,” Cohen quoted the president as saying.

In his book, Cohen calls his former boss “a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a conman,” saying that Trump is guilty of all the same crimes that landed him behind bars. Following his claims, however, the White House released a statement accusing Cohen of fabricating such stories to profit from his own lies.

“Cohen is a disgraced felon and disbarred lawyer, who lied to Congress,” wrote press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. “He has lost all credibility, and it’s unsurprising to see his latest attempt to profit off of lies.”
