While proudly promoting her latest animated flick "Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet," where she does voice over for the character Kamila, Salma Hayek had a thing or two to say about Hollywood!
Though she currently has a load on her plate, Hayek revealed that Hollywood movie studios don't look for her as often as before. However, that doesn't seem to bother the Academy Award nominee.
"I think they don't want me anymore," Hayek said in an interview with the Associated Press. "But in reality, I don't care," she added.
In fact, the 48-year-old Mexican actress is busy elsewhere! She's currently making the rounds with "The Prophet," an animated film adapted from Lebanese author's Kahlil Gibran's book released in 1923.
"It's significant. It's encouraging. It's inspiring. It's respectful. It honors children," she said of the movie she produced and which was inspired by her 7-year-old daughter, Valentina Pinault. "A lot of people tell me: 'But kids are not going to like poetry.' Children love poetry, that's why we have lullaby's. It's their first language, they think in metaphor," she added.
Maybe she's not being called by movie studios in Hollywood or flaunting her sex appeal at red carpets as much as before, but she's definitely keeping busy ---especially with beneficial events.
"I've been receiving many awards at different places for my humanitarian work and I've been in many films," Hayek told AP. "There's also my husband [Francois-Henri Pinault], who takes me to many places. I've been very busy with life."
