Are Shakira and Carlos Vives whipping something new for their fans? That's the exciting word on the street, confirmed by the former Mayor of Barranquilla, Alejandro "Alex" Char Chaljub.

The news was made earlier this month when Alejandro revealed that the Colombian songstress and her compatriot/colleague will film a music video in Barranguilla, reports El Heraldo. According to the national newspaper, both the "Whenever, Wherever" singer and the "La Tierra del Olvido" singer will record a song called "La Bicicleta" (The Bicycle), with tropical urban sounds.

El Heraldo also reports that the District Mayor of Barranquilla will support the filming of the video as they did with Vives and Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega, music video for "Las Cosas de la Vida" also filmed in the lively city.

While we wait for Shak and Vives to confirm this awesome news, let us remind you that the mother-of-two will most probably drop a Spanish-language studio album this year.

The mother of the adorable boys Milan and Sasha, recently shared two photos on Instagram that clearly teased her 18 million followers. "Writing songs! / Escribiendo canciones! Shak," said one of the posts. Another post simply stated: "Drumming." Yes, we are crossing our fingers that the writing and drumming are part of her long overdue album.

In fact, at a press conference held in October 2015, the 39-year-old singer promised to start working on an album for 2016. "By the end of this year or the beginning of the next year I will start working on my new album in the studio," she said. The last album the Colombian songstress dropped was two years ago with "Shakira." The 10th studio production includes hits such as "Dare (La La La)," "Empire," and "Can't Remember To Forget You" featuring Rihanna.

Vives, on the other hand, is making the rounds with his tour and will visit U.S. cities such as Miami, New York and Hollywood.
