While promoting her upcoming cop comedy “Hot Pursuit,” Colombian bombshell Sofía Vergara posed for the cover of Cosmo For Latinas’ summer issue and spoke about everything that’s occupying the funny actress’s mind. Vergara is having a very busy season while planning a wedding to fiancée and “Magic Mike” star Joe Manganiello, battling (or trying to move past) an alleged legal battle over frozen embryos with former fiancée Nick Loeb, and just trying to be everywhere at the same time because everyone wants a piece of her.
In her interview with the magazine, Vergara said she still believes there’s a soul mate out there for everyone and that it has to be and feel easy to be with that person instead of a constant struggle, “I believe that you can find a person who is very similar to you.” When asked about her upcoming nuptials, the question that’s on everyone’s mind was raised: “who will be her maid of honor?” but the “Modern Family” star responded there are no bridesmaids in Latin America, only flower girls and she will follow suit.
The star gushed about her son Manolo, 22, who she says has grown to be “so respectful and responsible,” and that he is what she’s most proud of in her life. Vergara says that in part, supporting herself and her son was what brought her into the business, not the fact that she wanted to be famous or an actress. Sofía says she’d be perfectly ok if her fame started to fade away as she’s had many years to enjoy and, "Sometimes you want fame to go away a little bit, because you want to do normal things.”
Lastly, Vergara says there shouldn’t be any complaints about how Latinos are growing in Hollywood. She mentioned Gina Rodriguez won a Golden Globe and Iñárritu just won an Oscar, “We should be very happy that there are people out there who are doing things and being recognized.”
