“Stranger Things” Season 3 is fast approaching, but the show’s cast and crew did pretty good at keeping mum about the show’s major details. The little details that are known, however, may leave fans baffled as they suggest that the upcoming season will be dark but lighter.

David Harbour’s Confusing Tease On What’s To Come

In a recent interview, “Stanger Things” actor David Harbour gave a few words on what to expect from the third season. While he admitted beforehand that he can’t really say much about the show, what he managed to reveal might leave fans even more confused as he said that it would be dark yet lighter.

“It has all the dark stuff that we’re kind of known for — all the horrors and scares — but it’s also a lighter season,” said Harbour in an interview with USA Today. “We allow these characters to do things that … we allow them to be sort of lighter,” he added.

The lighter side probably comes from the show’s setting, which will be the summer of 1985. Thus, everyone will be in a relaxed state and enjoying the sun. “It’s summer,” Harbour explained. “It’s a summer of '85 and in that way, it’s a very summer season — like the kids are out of school, like barbeques, fireworks, pools and things like that.”

Gaten Matarazzo Confirms Two Villains

But one thing’s for certain, the kids will have their hands full in the coming season as they will be facing multiple antagonists as usual. This was already confirmed by “Stranger Things” actor Gaten Matarazzo. In fact, he even gave an exact number of major enemies coming this season. “I will say there are two major antagonists,” he said.

This was also confirmed by the show’s executive producer, Shawn Levy. “We're [going to be] dealing with forces of evil that are new,” he announced.

The New Mall

A significant portion of the scenes will likely happen inside the StarCourtMall, the new place to be in town. In a previously released trailer, Maya Thurman-Hawke’s character, Robin, is seen working in the food court, which raises the possibility that the mall might be where she will uncover the town’s dark secret.

Meanwhile, actress Sadie Sink already hinted that the group will hang out in the mall as teenagers do. “It’s just about what’s going on with them and being teenagers in the summer, going to the mall, doing normal teenager stuff,” Sink teased on what to expect next season. “You really dive deep into who the characters are and their backstories this season,” she also said.

“Stranger Things” Season 3 will be released on July 4. Meanwhile, be sure to stay tuned for updates on your favorite TV shows.
