A woman in Faridabad, India was held for planting cannabis in her husband's auto-rickshaw. The plan was to get him arrested over it as she wanted to take revenge on her him as she thought he was having an affair.

“Her husband used to often return home late at night, and sometimes would not return at night altogether because of which the woman began suspecting him. The couple had been getting into a lot of fights over this recently and, to take revenge against him, she decided to trap him in a police case and get him arrested,” said Sube Singh, PRO of Faridabad Police, according to Indian Express.

“The woman went to Delhi and bought cannabis from a man named Pawan, which she placed in her husband’s auto rickshaw. She then tipped off police regarding the drugs,” he added.

Police arrested the man with the drugs after the woman provided some information. But after further investigation, her involvement in the matter emerged.

“The woman has been arrested by police and 700 grams of cannabis seized. An FIR has been registered against her under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the SGM Nagar police station,” said PRO Singh.

“She has been produced in court and sent to prison. Investigations are underway to track down and nab Pawan, from whom she had purchased the drugs,” he added.

In another incident, a 22-year-old woman and her male friend were arrested earlier this month for allegedly strangulating her husband to death in Noida, India, reported Hindustan Times.

The suspects, Sapna and Ankit, were reportedly in a relationship. The deceased, Mukesh Kumar, lived with his wife, and their two daughters, said police officials.

“The police questioned Sapna but her statement was not coherent. She initially said that she does not know how he died,” said Sudhir Kumar, station house office of Sector 49 police station.

The body was sent for post-mortem and a report found that he was strangled to death, the SHO said.

Police revisited the crime scene and questioned Mukesh’s wife again.

“We also received information that the woman was in a relationship with a person named Ankit, who lived in the neighborhood. During questioning, she admitted that she killed her husband with the help of Ankit,” the SHO said.

Police said that the woman gave her husband drinks and when he got unconscious, she called Ankit and they strangled him to death with a piece of cloth that was later recovered by the police.
