An 18-year-old has been taken into custody after he allegedly killed a 6-week-old puppy by throwing it against a wall, in retaliation for it pooping in his bed in Tamarac, Florida on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The accused, identified as Brayden Chance Niemczyk, 18, faces animal cruelty causing death and aggravated assault with a weapon charges after he allegedly hurled a 6-week-old puppy against a wall in anger after it “pooped and peed” in his bed in Tamarac on Saturday, NBC 6 South Florida reported.

After killing the puppy, he contacted his mother to tell her what happened. When the mom responded by texting, “OMG, what is your problem,” he reportedly replied to her “I’m evil.”

Following this interaction, the mother arrived home to confront the teen about abusing the puppy. However, Niemczyk allegedly proceeded to threaten her with a knife while claiming that no one cared about him.

After this, the mother ordered him out of the house. The suspect later joined the mother at the animal hospital where the puppy was being treated. The dog reportedly suffered brain damage and partial paralysis after the brutal attack.

Niemczyk was subsequently arrested at the hospital. While being questioned in custody, Niemczyk admitted to throwing the puppy against the wall in anger because it pooped on his bed. He also told the officers that he had conflicted feelings about the dog due to the affection it was receiving from his girlfriend, WFLA reported.

Tragically, the puppy had to undergo treatment at two animal hospitals before being euthanized.

Niemczyk remains in the Broward County Jail on bonds totaling US$10,000.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a Texas man was arrested on Monday, March 14, after police officers found that he repeatedly tortured and killed a puppy in a hotel room, Latin Times reported.

The accused, Tyler Hastings Berry, 27, was staying at the Doubletree Suites when the staff of the hotel found a dead dog in the suspect's room during clean-up. Officers handling the case recognized Berry’s name from two separate cases of animal cruelty. In the first case, the killing of a puppy was not adequately investigated since the staff threw away the puppy before an officer could come.

In the second case, two puppies died due to lack of medical care, with hypodermic needles found on the scene at another hotel. The puppies were found in the trash can of the hotel room on two separate days.

According to Berry’s girlfriend, Berry would order puppies and dogs online from Facebook. However, the dogs would then disappear after a few days.
