A 16-year-old boy allegedly axed his alcoholic father to death early on Friday, April 16, in the Kota district of Rajasthan, India.

The teen suspect, who has not been named, grabbed an ax and chopped his sleeping father multiple times during the early hours on Friday, police said.

All the other family members were asleep in a different room when the incident took place.

The victim, 45-year-old, Abid Ali, died on the spot, Station House Officer at Itawa Police Station, Bajrang Lal said.

The body was handed over to the family after conducting an autopsy.

According to the police, the victim was a liquor addict and often created havoc after he comes home drunk. The man frequently harassed his wife, two sons, and daughter when he is in an inebriated condition.

The victim also physically assaulted his wife and children on a daily basis, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Ali had 27 criminal cases including murder and loot registered against him.

The teen boy told the police that he killed his father to put an end to the physical abuse and mental torture that his alcoholic father was inflicting on him and his family.

The police registered a case after the victim’s brother filed a complaint against the teen. The boy who is yet to be detained is facing charges of murder filed under Indian Penal Code Section 302.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further details were revealed at the time of this writing.

In a similar incident, a woman in the city of Bengaluru, India, used her legs to strangulate her alcoholic husband to death following an altercation.

The deceased, identified as Mohan, who was working as a driver of a garbage truck, was killed by his wife, identified as Padma, on Tuesday, April 13.

According to the police, the couple who were married for 16 years, often engaged in altercations with each other when the man comes home in an inebriated state. On the night of the incident, the duo had a fight during which the woman pinned her husband down and then strangulated him using her leg.
