Hundreds of thousands of users around the world reported that they can't access Meta's two largest social media applications: Facebook and Instagram.

The likeliness that the apps crashed is illustrated by the amount of reports compiled by specialized site Downdetector.

By 10:45 ET, over 350,000 people reported issues accessing Facebook in Argentina alone, with two thirds of them saying they couldn't log in.

Moreover, more than 53,000 people reported similar problems with Instagram. 37% said they had troubles with the app, another 37% that the content didn't load and 26% that they couldn't update the feed.

Meta's official account on X has not posted any references to the apparent crash of the apps. The account has not had any activity since late January.

Infobae reported that some users can't access their accounts, as their passwords are not recognized. Others can't see the content they have historically uploaded to their profiles.
