Trump, Epstein, Maxwell: POTUS’ Recent Comments Draw New Attention To Connections With Sex Trafficker

U.S. President Donald Trump decided to return to the White House podium after a long break to address the coronavirus pandemic situation on the country, however, it did not take him much time to deviate from the topic and offer some warm words for Ghislaine Maxwell.

Maxwell, who is known as a close aide to Jeffrey Epstein, the alleged sex offender who took his own life in prison, is currently facing federal charges for helping him to “recruit, groom and sexually abuse girls.”

During the media address, one of the reporters asked Trump if he thinks Maxwell would publicly name the of elite and powerful men who have also been accused in different lawsuits of taking part in the sex trafficking ring that Epstein allegedly ran and strategized.

“I don’t know. I haven’t been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly,” Trump said in response to the question. “I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is.”

Trump owns Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, where Epstein also had a home, which is popularly known as the place where several girls were called and were allegedly molested. Maxwell is facing charges for helping Epstein recruit girls for sexual misconduct.

She was arrested in New Hampshire and is currently being held in a jail in Brooklyn. She is being held without bail and also pleaded not guilty to the charges she is facing.

Epstein was arrested exactly a year before Maxwell. He hung himself in a jail in Manhattan while waiting for the trial. It was decided, at the time, that the federal prosecutors will continue to probe into his associates, which includes Maxwell.

Trump has been linked to Epstein and has long been regarded as one of his close friends. In 2002, he told a major media house that Epstein is a “terrific guy” and he has known him for 15 years.

“He’s a lot of fun to be with,” Trump had said in 2002. “It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

However, he took a U-turn when Epstein was arrested.

“I had a falling-out with him. I haven’t spoken to him in 15 years. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you,” Trump said in July 2019, after saying that he knew Epstein like everyone else in Palm Beach knew him.
