Donald Trump proclaimed he invented a "new word" despite it already being in the dictionary.

During a joint press conference with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, President Trump signed the "Most Favored Nation" executive order. The measure seeks to lower prescription drug prices in the U.S. by requiring pharmaceutical companies to match the prices they charge in other developed countries or face "aggressive action" from the administration.

"The rest of the world's gonna have to pay a little more and America is gonna pay a lot less," Trump stated in a clip circulation on X. "Again, because it's a much smaller population than when you think of the whole world."

Americans pay 2.78 times more across all pharmaceutical drugs than other advanced nations. The U.S. does, however, pay 33% less than other developed countries for generic drugs, which account for 90% of prescriptions filled.

"So, basically, what we're doing is equalizing," Trump continued. "There's a new word that I came up with, which I think is probably the best word. We're gonna equalize where we're all gonna pay the same," he stated.

The word "equalize" dates back to the 1580s and is prominently featured in several major dictionaries. No one in the room appeared to react or correct the president, according to the clip.

Trump added that his administration is "willing to sacrifice" prices to assist countries in "dire need" of aid. He also inaccurately referred to the corresponding executive order as the "most favorite nation" policy.

Social media users could not help but poke fun at the president for the fraudulent claim.

"Someone alert the Oxford Dictionary people that there's a new word in use," @TheBondGuy2 joked.

"Tune in later in the week, where Trump discovers the color blue and the number 9," another added.

"Nobody tell him what the E in DEI means," a third teased, referring to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Multiple social media users assumed Trump learned the word after watching "The Equalizer," a 2014 action movie starring Denzel Washington.

"He probably watched 'The Equalizer' this weekend," @AP_FromDET wrote.

"Can someone see if this was on south Florida tv yesterday?" another joked, referencing Trump's second residence in Palm Beach.
