Veracruz faces Pumas UNAM tonight at 5 p.m. Veracruz will give all they have and play like they have never played before, like if their life depended on it. They need to add the last nine points up for grabs to their score to be able to remain in the First Division of Mexican futbol. This past Thursday, players started the day with practice in which they had a technique meeting, then the physical work of speed and reaction, also revising plays for tonight’s important match for Veracruz.
If Veracruz were to lose tonight they would be eliminated. They are closer to victory than to failure. Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, also known as "Chelis" was brought to coach the team for a moment like this.
Pumas on the other hand looks to stay closer to the top of the standings. With a loss, they could lose positioning and be placed lower on the standings. Clausura 2007 was the last time Veracruz beat Pumas.
