Paquita la del Barrio still keeps relevant by doing concerts here and there. There is no denying, however, that if she were ever to retire from the music biz, her music will haunt us forever. Not that it is a bad thing!

In fact, in promoting of one of her recent gigs in Chicago, the city where some of the Copa América games are hosted in Illinois, the iconic Mexican songstress was asked if she is following the tournament in its 100-year celebration.

The question was made by TV host Raul de Molina during an exclusive interview on Univision's "El Gordo y la Flaca," when la del Barrio responded with the most shameless answer, ever. "No, not me. That doesn't feed me," she stated, before targeting soccer fanatics in her comment. "People are very dumb, they stop eating just to watch a soccer game, but not me," she added.

The 69-year-old singer, responsible for ultimate ranchera hits such as "Ratas de dos Patas" and "Tres Veces Te Engañé," also threw shade at Argentina's and Barcelona's best player, Lionel Messi. "I don't know who that is," she stated when de Molina asked her about his skills on the field.

The Cuban host later explained he is currently considered the best soccer player in the world, to which la del Barrio responded with: "Good for him. I congratulate him."

Poor Messi. Former Argentina soccer legend Diego Maradona also threw shade at him, saying he "has no personality" and lacked leadership skills.
