22-Year-Old Woman Crushed To Death While Working At Bread-Making Factory

A 22-year-old woman who worked at the Johnston County Food plant died on Saturday, Apr. 16. She was reportedly crushed while operating a large industrial mixing machine at Automatic Rolls of North Carolina.

The deceased was identified as Bibiana Arellano Delabra who was discovered by first responders at around 3:45 p.m. at 68 Harvest Mill Lane in Clayton. Responders tried to save the 22-year-old but were unsuccessful, ABC 11 reported.

Delabra was operating the machine when something reportedly went wrong at the industrial bread-making factory, one of the largest suppliers of buns, rolls and bread in the United States.

The parents of Bibiana were seeking legal counsel following the unfortunate event. They would not comment further on the matter.

As of this writing, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) investigators are probing the cause of the death.

The company issued an official statement following the death of Delabra.

"Northeast Foods is a family-owned business in operation for over 75 years. We are devastated by the accident that occurred over this weekend that resulted in the tragic loss of one of our employees. Initial reports by emergency responders have deemed this event an accident and we remain committed to working with OSHA and all pertinent parties to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation into this unthinkable tragedy. We have been in touch with the victim's family and deeply regret the pain this is causing. Our employees will be receiving on-site counseling as we collectively grieve and process this loss," the released official statement read.

As a result of the accident, the family-owned food plant is now temporarily closed.

"We are devastated by the accident that occurred over this weekend that resulted in the tragic loss of one of our employees," the company said in a report from The Sun.

"We remain committed to working with OSHA and all pertinent parties to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation into this unthinkable tragedy.”
